Dr. Monique Vanden Heuvel

Monique “Dr. V” completed her undergraduate studies and veterinary education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following her graduation, she was commissioned as a Captain in the U.S. Army, where she served as Officer in Charge of the Veterinary Hospital at Lemoore Naval Air Station in California. Leading and training a dedicated team of soldiers, her primary mission was to ensure the health and deployability of Military Working Dogs heading to Iraq and Afghanistan. After four years of honorable service, she transitioned to Care Veterinary Clinic in California, specializing in soft tissue surgery, dental care, and ultrasound while also embracing her role as the mother of four wonderful children.

Recognizing the value of family, Dr. V relocated back to Wisconsin and joined Silver Spring Animal Wellness Center, where she immersed herself in the fields of Integrative and Preventive Medicine. After the arrival of her twin daughters, she found her home within the MVP (now Mission Pet Health) family, caring for patients at Waukesha Walk-In Veterinary Clinic, Downtown Veterinary Clinic in Milwaukee, and Mayfair Animal Hospital and Emergency. We are so excited that she has decided to return “home” once again, re-joining our team at Waukesha Walk-In Vet.

In her spare time, amidst the joys of raising six children and caring for her pets, Dr. V delights in the great outdoors, enjoys running, traveling, reading, and attending music concerts and sporting events.
